Currently, IISER Bhopal offers BS-MS (Dual Degree) programme and Ph.D. programme in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Earth and Environmental Sciences. In due course of time, we plan to expand programmes in other interdisciplinary areas.

BS-MS (Dual Degree): Admission to this program is after 10+2 years of school training and is currently on the basis of performance in the IIT JEE. Kishore Vigyan Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) scholars will also be considered for admission. Further, direct admission for students with first class in both X & XII board exams will also be considered (Selection based on merit and performance in interaction-discussion according to DST-Govt. of India). 80 students will be admitted to IISER Bhopal from current session (2010-2011).

Ph.D.: Admission to the doctoral program is after a Master's degree. We are thinking to evolve a system where students can be admitted to Ph.D. after B.S. The program will involve course work, a qualifying examination, a state-of-the-art seminar, thesis work, open seminar and a thesis examination, leading to the award of a PhD degree. The quantum of course work will vary depending on the background of the student. Besides individual research, students will be involved in several professional activities such as seminars, workshops, presentations and review meetings.

The Coordinator, Academic Affairs is responsible for various activities related to academic program such as admission of students, fee, scholarship, time table, etc.
